The wedding industry is changing. This is a bold statement but deep down we know its true.
With the wedding industry worth 10 billion pounds per year, the average wedding across the UK is calculated at approx £36,000. Not only does that mean a few worried parent’s, it means we are seeing an increase on wedding spend. This could be due to the difficulty couples have being accepted for a mortgage or the ever increasing flexibility around pension equity release.
This is great news for the Wedding suppliers, or is it?. we have a theory here at the business growth coach, imagine you place a spoon of sugared water on an ant run, give it some time and you will soon have a feeding frenzy.
This is similar to the current wedding industry situation. More money and industry growth encourages potential suppliers to have a go at starting a business in this industry, we quite often hear an interesting quote “there is plenty of work to go around”. This is very true as statistics indicate an industry increase in weddings. However do you think the increase in products and skills available to the customer in this industry is a good thing for the suppliers? It could encourage couples to haggle for a great deal, giving our customers the confidence and attitude to go else where if a deal does not meet there expectations.
What does this mean for the future wedding industry and it many suppliers old and new? In any business sector, change and being able to adapt will effect the company owners in different ways.
